Recent theories of human development
R Murray Thomas, emeritus professor in psychology from the University of California in Santa Barbara, has been very active over the last 50 years in the field of human development with close to 50 books to his name.
Human development is the way people change with the passing of time and in this book you will find an introduction with a brief description of nine different models of human development put forward during the 1880-1980s.
The rest of the book is devided into three parts: Extensions of tradition, products of social movements and final observations that illustrates the theories of human developemnt during 1980-2000.
The last 20 years have been influenced by the discussions of children growing up in poverty, ethnic minorities, sexual orientations and the impact of feminism. The coming years with a wider globalism, the influence of the internet and the impact of international terrorism will certainly have new therories and models come forward to explain human development in the 21st century.
A short and quickly read book with an overview of human development for students in psychology, social work, educations and human development.

Richard III: The Great Debate
Published in Paperback by W.W. Norton & Company (February, 1992)
Author: Paul Murray Kendall
Average review score:

Extremely interesting.
Mr. Kendall does an excellant job in his research and his theories, but he is a tad too repetitive. He gives terrific analagies, but could have consolidated many of these and made easier to read. Some places are tedious to read. but the subject matter is so interesting that you plod through and are never disappointed. Great theories and his research is incredible. I only wish there was more DNA research available for this book. Great book.

The River at Sundown
Published in Mass Market Paperback by Forge (April, 1999)
Author: Earl Murray
Average review score:

I just finished it, and I liked it!
Earl Murray really is one of the best western writers still putting out new books. I love Louis and Zane, but have finished most of their works. I now consider Earl one of my favorites, and love how well researched his books are. You can almost taste the old west.

Good book
This book can teach some topics such as Line Integrals, Stokes' Theorem, and other advanced topics fairly well. Mostly a good book.

Schaum's Outline of Theory and Problems of Real Variables; Lebesgue Measure and Integration With Applications to Fourier Series,
Published in Paperback by McGraw-Hill (September, 1983)
Authors: Murray R. Spiegel and Murray R. Speigel
Average review score:

Good for Review
Like the other books of the Schaum's Outline series, this book goes through the theories and shows you how to work the problems step by step. Although this is very helpful, I like to be able to test my knowledge. I say this is good for review because you will remember as you read this. You will also have a good idea of whether you are doing the supplementary problems correct or not. Here, most the supplementary problems do not have answers. Those that do, just have the final answer rather than an illustration of how the writers got the answer. This is difficult if you are learning about real variables for the first time.

As well as giving you the basic concepts, this book also goes into Lebesgue integrals, Riemann integrals, and Fourier series. The explanations are fairly well written, and the examples are easy to follow.

Selection of Personnel for Clandestine Operations: Assessment of Men (Intelligence Series , No 9)
Published in Paperback by Aegean Park Pr (April, 1996)
Authors: Donald W. Fiske, Eugenia Hanfmann, Donald W. Mackinnon, James G. Miller, Henry A. Murray, and Eugenia Hanfman
Average review score:

Interesting Document
This is an unclassified version of a study originally done by OSS psychologists on the selection of personnel suitable for clandestine operations. This means those in which the individual is inserted into enemy territory and then left alone to live under deep cover, always living in a state of stress and tension.
Compare this with covert operations in which groups of individuals are inserted for the purpose of operational support to indigenous forces or for independent raids and sabotage. On covert ops there is usually a safe zone where some can relax and unwind while others watch and the individual is not only armed but often uniformed as well. Wearing a uniform does not protect one from summary execution as a spy if captured but it does gives a valid claim to POW status and one can hope it will be granted.
Thus, it takes a very special mental state to operate alone and to expect nothing but torture and death if captured. And hope that execution will be swift. Few can stand the tension that results from being alone in a hostile environment.

Senator James Murray Mason: Defender of the Old South
Published in Hardcover by Univ of Tennessee Pr (March, 1998)
Author: Robert W. Young
Average review score:

interesting perspective on Confederacy
I had the opportunity not only to read Dr. Young's book, but to interview about it as well. He is a knowledgeable historian and very fact-conscious, as well as understanding the larger issues at hand. I recommend this book to anyone who is seriously interested in the American Civil War because it will provide you with a unique story about one player in this immense drama.

Shakespeare's Italian Settings and Plays
Published in Hardcover by Palgrave Macmillan (January, 1989)
Author: Murray J. Levith
Average review score:

A good reference for Shakespeare scholars
Levith's survey of Shakespeare's plays set in Italy is a good starting point for scholarly data for researchers interested in the use of Italy in Elizabethan and Jacobean drama. The different roles Italians and the Italian culture plays in portraying the current English are discussed, as well as the Italian works that sit as the origins for many of Shakespeare's canon. This is a wonderful reference to have on the shelf and can help anyone from the undergraduate level up.

The Spider (#46): The Man Who Ruled in Hell
Published in Paperback by Pulp Adventures, Inc. (01 July, 1998)
Authors: Grant Stockbridge, Will Murray, and John N. Howitt
Average review score:

Mass Transit Strikes Back!
An evil criminal organization is blackmailing New York City's mass transit organizations, and only THE SPIDER can stop them. OK, granted, this is a pretty lame premise, but the action picks up right at the start and never flags. Lots of runaway buses and crashing subways in the fight to the finish.
